I like most of the smaller(and larger) sansui recievers that I've heard. I got a response to a CL add and mifgt be able to pick one up. Says theres something whong with it, but that means it will probably be cheap. He said it was a 1000tx "TX".......I'm thinking its probably an x but maybe its an oddball?

after talking to him it sounds like a deoxit fix....The guy just has too much extra gear(after putting 8 systems together). I wish I knew more about late 60 early 70's gear, as he has a bunch of older stuff to get rid of.

I'm also sitting on a hoard of unused gear...but its a sui and I want it:banana:

I'm going to take a look at it tomorrow(today)....The guy is pretty sure its a 1000TX......Said it is solid state, not tube

It would be cool to find a sansui that hasn't been seen documented yet, but most likely it will be a regular old 1000x.

Anyone have a spec sheet for it? mainly wpc....I guessing about 10.

wpc 1000X
28/8ohms
35/4ohms

The 1000TX is a PIONEER! The only 1000 Sansui made to my knowledge was the 1000 in 1964 and the 1000A(a diferent animal) from 1965 to 1972.

I have a couple of Sansui 1000x and think they are a nice smaller receiver. There are other small receivers, Marantz and Pioneer to mention a couple of brands, that are nice too but if the deal is right for you then the 1000x is not a shabby piece,

I have a 1000x and it has always been a favorite of mine. I heard that these were only sold overseas and never in the U.S.Perfect for a set of large advents I ran 2 sets with mine and it sounded great

I ended up getting it(traded a technics table for it...maybe worth $20), looks real nice, got it from original owner. Hes a non smoker, but looks like the case hasn't ever been opened. Lots of dust(hairy) and there is sound output, but all the controls are scratchy...and the tape monitor togles and the stereo mono toggle dont work(suspecting its just very dirty) I am going to vac it out and give he a listen.

Dust wasn't too bad, most of it was directly under the vents. deoxit fixed everything. I also was able to adjust the dial indicator as it was off almost 1 foll number(tuned to 98.1 showing 99.1)very easy to do with this one.

I just gave it a quick listen......

sounds very good, its hooked up to some cv bookshelfswhich probably aren't very efficient, but it drives them to a decent level no problem. If I had a garage this would be perfect for some tunes while wrenchin'....

The FM tuner is amazing:banana::thmbsp::D.......stereo separation is so good that I had to check the speakers as I thought I had a blown driver or something. I don't know how exactly to describe the sound of it, just very good, warm, yet detailed...if that makes sense.

Along with separating very well, it also is very quite on marginal signals.....oh also it doesn't have a real antenna hooked to it, just a 15-20" piece of scrap wire to the 75ohm input............

I may have to use this as a preamp/tuner for something larger.....simply put if this had 75-120wpc I would sell my 8080db and keep this one and never look back!

You should be able to set up 1000X pre-out to 8080db main-in and see how it sounds.
