2009 5th Annual PeaceKeepers Ride

Jim Eck

Chicks dig the Mule
My Wife, Son and I went on a ride yesterday with over 180 other motorcycles to benefit Air and Armed Guards.

I must say it was quite an experience, I had never ridden in that large of a ride before, the sound is incredible, and people that I have talked to that we went by agree. It was about a 100 mile ride, with the Police and or Steel Justice blocking the intersections as we approached (we probably pi$$ed off some), my Son was on his Sporty ahead of me, I with my Wife on back, it was in fact a Parade as we went through towns people were lining the street watching as we passed through. One thing about having the Police with you, speeding is not an issue, we went through one town at 55 mph, and this same town anyone going 46 will get a ticket.

On a back road on one hill top I could look ahead, it is amazing to see two lines of bikes going on for over a mile, and I was not the back of the procession.

Here is a link to their site, http://www.springfieldareapeacekeepers.com/ if you have a group like this and get the oportunity to ride for a good cause take the oportunity, it is a great experience.

I took some pictures and will post them later.

Looks like fun. And the weather was nice, too.
Cool you could share it with family. :thmbsp:

Ahh, brings back memories of the first "run" I went on. A bunch of crazies on Pans, Knucks, Shovels and Ironheads trying their best to make it 200 miles. No police escort but they all acted like it anyway. I was just a punk on an XLCH and was blown away by all the goings-on.

Glad you had fun supporting a good cause.
