2275 Cleaning Help

Hello Crew,

Pulled the tone board out, in the photo you will see a long, thin metal shield that is blocking access to the push buttons below. (3 attaching screws from the faceplate side are removed)

Two options I see: 1) unsolder the pot that is blocking removal of the shield.
2). Cut the shield in half at the thin neck of the U towards the top.

What have others done?

Can you unscrew the nut on the front of the pot and just pull it back?
 
Here's my little thread on removing that board to recap it. I went too far and completely disconnected the front chassis panel. It worked and I got access, but reassembly was no fun. I share the thread because others responded like Hipocrates -- remove a few screws, loosen the others, and the front panel will swing out far enough for access. Only look at the pictures if you have a strong stomach. :eek:

Take the nut off the volume control so you can move it back out of the way.
Remove the (3?) screws holding the shield to the front chassis and then remove the shield.
