230V Avid Volvere turntable for U.S. use with 110V power supply?

Hi, first post, am in need of advice regarding an overseas turntable. I have the opportunity to bring back a U.K. spec Avid Volvere turntable. My question is, can I simply purchase an Avid power supply that takes 110V/60hz U.S. voltage to power the turntable motor? Or would the motor be wired specifically to accept the 230V/50hz power?

Very much appreciated for any input.

Check with Avid about the suitability of their power supplies for your turntable in the USA. If the motor is NOT AC synchronous, a step-up transformer for 115v to 230v or 110v to 220v should work, but I'd still check with Avid. Maybe it's as simple as flipping a switch or changing a jumper.

If its a synchronous motor, there will be a speed problem as synchronous motors lock onto line frequency. You may need a different pulley to get the proper speed. You need to check into this before you go further.
