50% more, 50% less. New house, new listening room, (mostly) same old system

My family has outgrown our old house, where my listening room/office was a big funky unfinished 1940s cement walled basement. We've upgraded to a different house that's 50% bigger and 50 years newer. And my new listening room/office is 50% smaller. It BARELY fits in this space. I'm bummed that I had to stop using my New Large Advents because there wasn't enough space, but I'm happy with how things sound.

I had to be very particular about speaker stands. To make them fit, the bases had to be smaller than 11" square, and they needed to be at least 31" tall to clear the top of my desk.

I haven't had the opportunity to let my Pioneer stretch its legs, but I have 2 little girls and most of my listening is at night-time. I have yet to push things above half a watt. One of these days I'll have a couple hours with an empty house and can see what 100 WPC RMS can do with my little JBLs.

Looks cozy. Do you have a good listening chair in the room? How's the sound with the speakers up against the wall?

What does the back wall look like? That is some very compromising speaker placement. Totally near field, 0 toe, back in corners with no breathing room.
Hate to say it, but with that space, headphones might be a better option.

If you can move the speakers behind you, any setup that gives them better positions.

Well, here we go with another update. The room posted above is now the new nursery, and I moved all my stuff to the basement where I have more room to work. Out come the New Large Advents and the KLH Model 14Bs, my preferred 2 sets of speakers. I know I need to continue personalizing the space, but this is the layout for gear.
