My gut told me to stop by the Salvation Thrift Store on the way to finish Christmas shopping last week. Big sign " Half off everything in the store" Walked in and browsed around, My eyes come upon a five piece set that included a Pioneer VSX receiver with two cheap looking speakers sitting on top and a pair of black large ones underneath, All sitting in a large gray bin ( Couldn't see the brand of speakers).

I figured they were just as bad and I really didn't need another receiver so I passed.....What the heck let me at least see whats underneath this receiver before leaving the store....Surprise Surprise:banana::banana: I'll take it:yes: $150 & half off... This is what I got for my $75...Not to shabby...:D

It was a very pleasant surprise indeed, The speakers were mint with both drivers intact and in perfect working order. The Pioneer turned out to be a nice fit with the gear I already had going in my listening area.

I almost thought that paradigm was an Energy 22 for a second. That would have been a nice bonus but you did well, nonetheless.

I'd a probably skipped the receiver because it's a Dolby Pro Logic only rig and asked if you could get the speakers for half again or something...but that's just me. Of course, if you're not going to do anything with surround sound it may be fine.

How do those Paradigm sound ?

Sorry about the delayed response, My internet was is off so I go to the local library for Wi-Fi service:yes::yes: They really surprised me with the sound,Great bass with silky smooth tweets:music: Handles everything thrown at them so far paired with my Pioneer SX 3700, Pioneer PD-70 cd player:music:
A pretty good bargain IMHO:thmbsp:

Woooohhhh!....Is that a Laserdisc player in attached thumbnail? What model? Pioneer DVL-919?

It's a DVL-909 I really like this player and own about 50 Laser disc from cartoons, music concerts and movies. So the Pioneer VXS took over duties from the the Kenwood I had in it's place, I love the look and sound of these matched components.
