Hey folks, My rca manul doesn't have this tube listed. It's too old of a manual. I looked it up, but am not sure. I think this tube requires an 8k pp opt? I have a nice set of four tubes and a set of 8k opt's. Thinking aobut putting (another) project together. Can anyone verify the opt impedance? Also, what would the estimated power output be on this amp?

I did a google and found some infop - maybe 7-10 watts. But I could not find the impedance there or here in ak.

This data sheet for the ECL82 euro designation lists 10.5W output pp with 10k load resistance and 250v on the plates.

http://www.mif.pg.gda.pl/homepages/frank/sheets/010/e/ECL82.pdf

It also lists 9.3w with 4.5k load resistance and 200v on the plates.

Draw some load lines and figure out what an 8k load with 300v on the plates will give you. The directions for drawing load lines and figuring out distortion % are given in the chapters before the tube data in your RCA manual.

Also, you can find info for any tube if you download the TDSL program or go to link that mhardy provided. The Frank Philipse pdf links are usually pretty solid.

Thanks for the info folks. I have added the links to my favorites so I don't have to bother you again!

I looked for PP specs and couldn't find em :-P Thanks for posting that.

Since my tubes/opts didn't quite match I did some research. I found an amp that uses these 6bm8's. It is a knight kg-250. Anyhone have opinions on this amp? I have located one and am very seriously considering it.
