He doesn't list a 7591..... what's the equivalent?

TT1... we found a 7591 in supplemental, its looking for a bias setting of 19g. He can set to L or H, but, no G.

If he is using a Heathkit IT-17 tube tester, the Supplemental Test Data Sheet lists the 7591 as follows:
Type: 3
Fil.: 6.3
Plate: 20
Top: CDFH (D and H bold)
Bottom: EG (G bold)

The Howard W. Sams Tube Substitution Handbook No. 19 does not show an equivalent for the 7591.

Maybe this will help.

For the TT-1 (or TT-1A)

Plate F
Bias 19H
Filament 6.3
Meter 45
Signal 8
Selectors 07341-5640-000
R. P. (Reject Point) 1100
Notes Pe; X6

Send'em to me Ron, and I'll toss out the bad ones, and send you the good ones back.:para:

Similar but not plug-in replacements are the 6GM5 and the 7868. Both have different bases but the insides are much the same.

Hope that helps...

Jeff just left and although we couldn't find a "G" setting for bias, we fumbled by without blowing anything up ;)

No drinks other than diet root beers and lemonade :D

Ron thanks for everything, that was great.

Folks I got to listen to Ron's Edgarhorns on 300b meshplates. It was a religious experience.
