A list- Best speakers in the $200-$399 range...

A nice spot between the harder-to-find, harder to place models in the $400-up range.

Some of my favorites that I've either heard or owned-

a/d/s/ L630
a/d/s/ L810
a/d/s/ L880
Vandersteen 2c
Royd Doublet (I believe that was the model).

I would speculate the fairly rare DCMTimewindow 3 and DCM Timewindow 7 should be included, as well as the Boston Acoustics A400.

And more a/d/s/. The 1090s? 1290s perhaps?

Any KEFs? Acoustic Research? Mission? Klipsch?

I'm sure there's lots of JBL, Infinity and others too- what are your favorites?

JBL L-166's or L-96's if you can find them at that price. For near field listening, JBL 4410A's are very nice.

These speakers are AWESOME for the price. The cabinets are beautiful in hand oiled walnut. Non Anniversary versions are in the $300 range. Annversary versions are slightly over $400, new.
Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 75th Anni.

Are we talking new or used? I've paid as little as $10 for ADS L810's, New Large Advents, Klipsch Heresy's, Dynaco A-25's and A-10's. :D

Not sure if you're asking about pairs, or even if you mean buying them new today.
I love my Focal Chorus 806V, but they were $799 for the pair. Not the strongest bass, but boy are they crisp and clear.
As for vintage gear - Norman Seven - $200 apiece in 1977

From a quick review of sales, I'd say you'd have to include the DQ-10s in that list.
