He was my boy.. 16 years old.. Today was his last here on earth..
I remember when he was a pup, his first trip to the park.. I picked him up outta the back seat, he was a bit unsure, but as soon as I put him on the ground he took off running..
Back to the road we drove in on.. I got just close enough to swipe his little butt with my foot to stop him..
He learned his boundaries very quickly.. :)
I'll catch up to him again someday...

I will have Ace back next week in something similar..

My brother lost his boy just recently, Bari.. we talked today and I mentioned that it is strange how easily a dog can work it's way into your heart..

Swokie, 16 years tells how good of a forever parent you were for your fur-baby.
I sure think it takes a special relationship to go that kind of distance.

Its hard to say goodbye to our furry family members. Seems unfair their lives are so short compared to ours. Ace had the best of homes and loved you all without any conditions, and I can see its returned. Remember the good times and I too believe that we will see each other again when this time comes to an end.

@Mister Pig. Magnum was my brother from another motha... however ACE was OP companion... Dont want to take away from @Swokie63 loss...I did have a cry today just thinking of the agony of losing a best friend.. My cars and home will never be as safe again....

Reading this thread, this thought came to my mind:

If there is no heaven for dogs, then there's no heaven for anything.

They can be such pure loving beings, untouched by greed or hate or any of the things that plague us humans.
