Considering picking up a set of Acoustic Control Model 626s. Confused about the 12” woofers. Pair I am considering seems to have a different foam surround then most but it’s funny in that it seems to be what’s reflected on the original brochure found on hifi e. Posted a couple of photos showing the difference. Any insight or thoughts?

Probably just had the surrounds redone. That would be a given by now with the age of those. They don't say "Thumper" on the cone or have any strange logos so I wouldn't worry too much. If possible remove one and check the manufacturer.
