Adding TT Ground Post / Lug

A lot of the older tube preamps/integrateds don't necessarily have a ground post / lug nut thingy to ground your TT cart/tonearm.

What have you all used as substitutes? I have vacant holes in the chassis where I could mount something. I know I could just use a screw and nut, but hoping there's something readily available and not very expensive that better approximates the traditional ground post with the textured part you grab/twist and then twist tight to get your ground spade all nice and secure.

Oddly I've been messing with my Scott 340B and it doesn't seem to care if the ground wire is hooked up, unlike some of my SS units which let you know right away if it doesn't have a good connection.

That's interesting. I didn't want to experience the big hummmm, so I just taped on the ground spade to the chassis for now with painter's tape. I may turn the volume down and remove it and see if it matters on mine too.

I've used that mouser part. Works just fine. I like putting a single banana plug on the ground wire for ease of use.

Run a pan head screw, like a #8 from the inside outwards. Put on a external lockwasher on the screw thread from the outside, put a nut on that and tighten it up. The get a knurled brass $8 nut (all parts can be had at ACE hardware).

Knurl head thumb screws with a shoulder. A #8-32 brass one fits a Rogue amp I have. Replaces button head Philips ground screw. I dislike useing screwdrivers for ground connections, blind behind gear.

Bought M4 x 10mm size for a couple Chinese amps. Chrome plated brass. About $5.50 for a 5 pieces from Hong Kong. Can use a flat washer against case to not scratch it. I used a rubber washer.
Replaced M4 screw on bottom of case. After checking clearance on inside. Was easier than drilling and tapping in chrome plated SS case.

Thanks all. I cobbled together what I think I need from Home Depot. The shipping from the updatemydynaco site was $7.99 for a $1.xx item, so decided to DIY. Hope I did it right!
