ADS L780 Speaker Stands?

This afternoon I picked up a pair of black ADS L780/2 speakers ... what closed the deal (cuz I don't need any more speakers) were the black metal stands that came with them ...

Can anyone confirm that the stands are ADS stands? ...

Is your opinion on the stands based on specific info? ...

The metal grills are definitely OE (they have ADS badges) ... and I doubt if someone went to the trouble of gluing the baffle material to the inside ... but I guess that I have seen stranger things ...

Yep, factory. IIRC they are F7F's for the L470/L570/L780. There were also F8F's (L880) & F9F's (L980). The L980 versions however look like a backless office chair, not a box frame like yours. The back side of the F7F is where the folded up lip is and there should be a slot in the tubing behind it at the top to thread wire through. There is a matching slot at the bottom of the tube by the floor.

The opaque covering is so you don't see the drivers through the grille screen. It was listed as "acoustically transparent" along with the grille.

Roger on the slots ... I hadn't noticed them ... thanks for the confirmation ... I was pretty sure that they were ADS stands ... but it's nice to know ...
 
I love the look of the ADS/Braun speakers with nice wood veneer and black metallic grills.
 
It would be nice to know the specifics on these various stands for the various models so we could make them or have them made! I know Duffinator posted pictures and dimensions for stands for the 810 I believe, but some of these other stands look taller and do not tilt the speaker back (time align?). Aren't the 810, 780, 880, 980 enclosures pretty similar in size?

Good idea, Columbo. I could provide dimensions for the early L-shaped Brauns for the 810's, and we could have it all published to the ADS reference "sticky".

It seems that some of the stands keep the speaker vertical and some tilt the speaker back by some degree. Some speakers are made with a sloping baffle for time aligment of the drivers. I wonder if this was even a consideration when making tilted stands for certain models. I think the 880 stands look quite a bit taller thant he 810 stands, but the 810 stands tilt the speaker up. Perhaps to get the higher frequencies up into the listening area while keeping the woofers low to better couple with the floor? Just some thoughts....

Seems no one answered the question on the "/2" addendum of the name.

It means "series 2", and some models were, in my opinion and some others opinions, improved in the "/2" versions.

I've got L570/2s and they are rumored to be an improvement over the L570s, though i've not heard non /2 L570s before.
