I picked these up at a flea market. I wasn't sure if these are the original drivers. The woofer is glued in and screwed with silver colored screws. Seems odd. Anyone know about these?
Its been a while since I've seen a pair of those, but the woofers do not look original to me. I think the originals only had 3-4 rings, and they started at the outer edge. Not a very common speaker.
underrated IMO - Similar to the Advent 3 w. the double tweeter in a slightly larger cabinet. To image them correctly - you might have to toe one of them out a toucht. Assuming the caps are good - best to clean the posts & fasteners up as well.
Those woofers not oem, which have cardboard surround spacer on smaller cone.
I wasn't impressed with the performance of mine as was, the mids & top isn't wonderful. The box and midwoofer however is superb on the stock speaker.
Modified as per the econowave thread and driven with very good electronix and source material, maybe the best small speaker I've heard for easy money and a couple evenings work.
