Akai Gx747 Reel Motor Lubrication Advice Needed

Recently acquired one of these decks and the reel motors are a bit noisy and sound like they need lubrication. Wondering if anyone has had any experience with these motors?

1). Does the motor have ball bearings? Can it be lubricated or does the bearing have to be replaced and if so, does anyone know how to disassemble the motor?

2). I know how to remove the motor from the deck and remove the reel table to get down to the motor. Then there is an e-clip on the shaft. Do you need a puller of some sort to open the motor up? Assuming one can get it apart, how does it get reassembled. It seems like an unusual motor, not like a capstan motor.

3). If it is a ball bearing, does anyone have a spec for a replacement bearing.

Attached is a photo of a similar motor.
Thanks in advance.

I had a noise in mine as well in the counter wheel. A couple of drops of oil made it quiet again.

Yes, if I remember correctly. You just need to take the take up reel side panel off. That gives you easy access to it.

Looks like the counter is driven by the tension arm wheel and not the reel motor. Without tape on the machine, holding the tension arms in the proper place to activate the motors, and going into ff or rwd, the reel motors sound noisy to me. Again, the counter is not active with this test.

Can I lubricate the motor bearings?
