Aloha, my name is Clint. So I'm fairly new to the home audio world, I was really into playing music, but I dislocated my wrist skateboarding and can only play occasionally without having too much pain. That was also right around the invent of the iPod, which like many I was blown away by, and moved into a more convenient world of digital music. That was 2004.
Fast forward to the start of 2017, I got a $40 turntable from a discount store and busted out my three records that I have for some reason been holding on to, instantly fell in love. I started buying more vinyl, and was paying a decent amount for some, and I was concerned my $40 TT was going to ruin my records. Mind you I am on a budget (Hawaii isn't a cheap place to live) so my current setup is a work in progress, but I feel like I am achieving pretty good sound so far. This is what I'm working with:
Technics SL-Q3 Turntable w/ Nagaoka MP-100 cartridge
SMSL SA50 50w Chinese Amp
ART DJPRE II Phono Preamp
Pioneer SP-BS22-LR Andrew Jones Bookshelf Speakers
I just got some vintage gear that I want to restore, but I'll save that for another post. Anyhow, I get pretty compulsive when I get into things, so I'll probably be here a bit. Thanks for having me!
