I think I ask about these Altec 887A speakers I found for a few bucks at one of my stores before. I posted a picture and was told the woofers were not original. I was disappointed in that news so I sat them aside and was about ready to just write them off as cheap frauds. Then iIsaw a seller on Ebay selling Altec 30867 drivers that he claims are from series 1 Model 1's and Model 887A Capri speakers. The woofers had rubber surrounds like mine. He claimed they were rare. I just pulled the woofers from my 887A's and thats what they are....30867! It looks like maybe they aren't cheap substitutes after all or either it is a huge coincidence and that seller is a fraud. Can anyone give me solid info on this speaker and tell me if the woofers in mine are the originals for sure or not? Any accurate info would be appreciated!
