Hi Everyone,

Saw this on eBay and wanted to share in case anyone was interested. If I hadn't purchased my Pioneer SX-1250 I would have grabbed this up and updated my system. Great deal and room to negotiate. The Tuner, Tape Deck and Amp can hold their own against some of today's best gear. If you know of someone who likes that "Nakamichi" sound please share.

Nakamichi PA-7, CR-7A, ST-7, CA-&A, OMS-&AII, DIN Cables:

Seller claims tape deck is worth half his asking price, but I don't see evidence of that. Closed auctions indicate selling price in $1000-$1500 range, and he's asking $5K for the system.

Here are the pics for posterity. Odd that seller posted no rear pics.

Yes, eBay prices can be a bit crazy. I have seen a CR-7A on eBay for over $2,000 in mint condition. But again, there's room for negotiation. I don't know this person or gain anything for sharing this information, just thought it was a nice system that someone could purchase and enjoy if interested.

You can ask whatever you want, it doesn't mean you'll get it. As I said, completed auctions show much less than that but they only go back a few months.

That’s a very nice system. Besides top quality sound, it all works together seamlessly through the preamp’s remote and the DIN cables.

The seller has it overpriced, but not by that much. The amp and cassette are each worth close to a grand (the CR-7 is one of the best cassette decks ever made, and they licensed the power amp from Nelson Pass), and the preamp not that much less. The cd and tuner are worth significantly less, but are still decent if working right. In good condition with all the accessories, $3,000 - $3,500 would be a fair price. That’s probably what I have into mine.

Thank you bobschneider! I own a CR-7A (modified) and it is a great deck! At one time I wanted this setup, if I were to purchase it I would sell the CD player and use mine or get another one. Thanks for the info!

Did you buy it as a turnkey system or did you piece it together with well bought pieces?

I pieced it together. As I recall, I even had to track down the preamp remote (which controls the whole system) and the power strip which is controlled by the preamp separately

Someone had the whole setup except the cassette deck on eBay for a $1300 opening bid, or $2300 buy it now. That auction ended with no bids earlier today. That would be a great deal if he relists it and you could get it for close to the opening bid.
