ANOTHER notice from AOL (Verizon email)

OK, here we go again...

To start, as background, Verizon sold their email service to Yahoo, which sold all their stuff to AOL.
When notified, I selected to keep our Verizon email address which we had since, I dunno, 1990?

Anyway, in December we started getting emails from seemingly random people saying that AOL email was going away unless we re-registered...which we ignored. Eventually in maybe mid January we did in fact start having problems, and our Outlook email no longer would access the AOL email. For a while we had to do the double-secret-probation dance to get into our (old) Verizon email, but for the past several weeks we are able to log right in and no problems.

Just now got an email from this juicer, yong.bao@bqenergy.com , saying we are about to be shut off "because, and click this link" just figure he has to be fischer. I broadcast his exact email just in case anyone else has gotten the same thing...

My former AOL email does in fact still work, but Outlook does not. Really pissed off, but where I am not paying AOL anything, I can perhaps understand why I cannot get support unless I pay them something...but, didn't they just buy a pig-in-a -poke so have to support it. Maybe not.

Anyway, I did in fact start a g-mail account, but according to my son-in-law and other computer-savy persons I chose a horrible email address. OK...can anyone here help me just get my Outlook-Through-AOL back? Just a not-computer-savy 'geezer trying to keep things as they were...

I used to hang on to Outlook or whatever the current name is. After years of listening to my son, I finally sh*tcanned it and went with G-mail exclusively. Once you learn the nuances, it's simple.

If you can get the settings, you can set up your old AOL email account in Outlook.

Of course, everyone who contacts you via Verizon will need to know what your new email address is.

I'd prefer to go with a new GMail address if I were in your shoes.
