Hi All. I looked for free program management software the other day and all the stuff I found wanted to either 1. load my computer with way too much junk or 2. was only a trial version with cost to come later.....or both.

So, anyone know of a truly free program out there??? Thanks much, D.

THIS ASSUMES THAT YOU OR WHOMEVER IS IN CHARGE OF YOUR 'PROJECT(S)'
KNOWS HOW TO MANAGE PROJECTS; AND WORK [VERY CLOSELY] WITH PEOPLE ON SAME.

Parameters:

  • Application [type of project/industry/process/activity - some software is tailor-made to project/process type];
  • PM hardware and OS [Windows, OS X, Linux, blah, blah];
  • How big: basic/complex [tasks/resources/budget]??? [How many projects?]

Anyway:

Anything wrong with Excel [and/or 'Word']? I've utilised simple 'spread-sheet' bar-charts to implement/control
small projects and/or process time-lines; but Excel has it's own suite of process-control ['screens'/reports/planning/
resource-allocation] tools etc - that go much further.

And, I went on one seminar where our leader worked minor [PM] miracles with MS Word.

To save me going 'much further' down memory lane, knock yourself out:

Hope this helps!

Cheers, og

PS: Beautiful, beautiful 'artwork' of yours there!

Sorry guys, I don't know what I was thinking when I posted this. I meant to say Sales or Customer management software. Sorry for the confusion.

A program called Reflect by NCH Software comes to mind.

It is fairly basic and not customizable, but it is free.

There are other programs out there, but this is just what came to mind.

It may not meet your needs, depends on what you need to do.

It does have sales lead management, although it is rather basic. It does not have the features of ACT, Salesforce or others for example.

Here is link to the software.

Essential PIM is another. It is basically a PIM rather than a sales tool.

No affiliation.

Your choice of software will depend on your goals.

I have used various methods such as an Excel spreadsheet, ACT, Salesforce and others and even used MS Access and made my own to keep track of all of the needed information along with MS Outlook as my calendar and reminder program.

Both of the above programs are rather basic. They are just a couple that came to mind.

Others may chime in with more suggestions.

I may have made 2 + 2 = 5 with the original post too!

Did a few Googles, as I've only ever worked with custom/proprietary/costly CRM systems [and not for quite a while!].

NCH products showed up on my first three 'stabs'. The fourth included this list - use it for comparison purposes if you want something with which to compare JBL Guy's comprehensive suggestions above.

Cheers, og
