I found 10 of these today for 59 cents each. All are still sealed - factory fresh. Were these worth picking up?

I found a few of these too and figured I'd take a chance on them just because they're type II. I haven't tried any yet so i can't speak about their quality. I'll have to break one out soon.

Memorex is okay, nothing really spectacular. Good for only voice recording or recording stuff over the radio.

I've tried it and found it no better than average. The biggest problem was a large number of dropouts at the ends of the tape which reflects a lack of manufacturing QC. Fidelity is rather blah for a type II but adequate. It is worth the money.

This is true about all their tapes, including Video. I don't buy their CDs/DVDs anymore, either.

OK. I decided to open one of these and try it out. I recorded Al Stewart's Time Passages (from a recently acquired EMI UK CDP 7977652 CD) on my TEAC V-909RX using dbx noise reduction and I have to say that I am impressed with the results. Sounds very dynamic to me and I honestly can't tell that I am listening to a tape! I haven't noticed any problems such as dropouts, etc. So far, I can give these :thmbsp::thmbsp:!
