And I'm not talking about that "Winds of Change" crap. For me the band peaked at Animal Magnetism after incredible albums like Taken By Force, Lovedrive, and Lonesome Crow.
Anyways..last night I heard a song that was clearly from that time period but I had never heard before. After researching I learned that it's called "Hey You" and it was released on the non-US version of Animal Magnetism. What a great song!!!! Addictive guitar hooks from two different players, and a softer Klaus Meine on vocals. It sounds like it could've been a big hit here given the chance. It's on iTunes under Rockers/Ballads collection...don't miss it!

I've seen the Scorpions a few times over the years. The first time was '82 or '83, IIRC. Always a good show.:thmbsp:
And Matthias(sp?) and Rudolph were always a kick ass team!
 
I too hte "winds of change" , what crap that was.... also hated the Who cover they did , i will say last two Scorps albums are pretty good though .
I have been a fan since about 1980 , i like Lovedrive , animal mag. ,Blackout (which might be my favorite) , love at 1st sting & worldwide live , those are the one's i usually listen to .
 
Hell yeah, they rock me like a hurricane. :D Not much of an 80's music fan, but I do like the Scorpions, mostly for the excellent guitar work.
 
Really can't call them an 80's band they go back to 1968 or so. Virgin Killers, Fly to the Rainbow and In Trance are some you might want to check out as well if you're sick of the top 40 stuff.
I saw them again a few years ago and they still rock just with less hair now.
 
hell ya'. Lonesome Crow, Fly to the Rainbow, In Trance... all the older stuff up until Love at First Sting. (not than any of their stuff after this was no good, just stopped listening). Uli J Roth was amazing. I started an almost identical post about a year ago.
 
Love the Scorpions. My favorite era was the Uli Roth years. I love Uli's guitar playing. I even have some of Uli's solo work. Unfortunately, someone let him sing on those which was a very bad idea.

Love Drive and Animal Magnetism are two great albums also. I liked Blackout when it came out but have not listened to it in what seems like decades. Maybe I'll give it a spin tonight. I did not like their later music much but do like Winds of Change.
 
Big Scorps fan here. I have everything from Lonesome Crow album to Love At First Sting.

Have to say Lovedrive through LAFS is my favorite time for them not the the early stuff is not good.
 
Just finished listening to Lovedrive on vinyl(the banned cover). Met them at a CD release party back around 88-89 in Baltimore MD. Love everything up through Love At First Sting.
 
Yep, like them. Have 4 of their albums on cassette, Savage Amusement, Love At First Sting, Blackout & Crazy World. Blackout and Crazy World have never been opened. Found them at the SA, along with about 50 0ther cassettes that were like new or were never opened. Good stuff, like Metallica, Judas Priest, Def Leopard, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, INX, Blue Oyster Cult, Whitesnake, Tesla, U2, Tears for Fears and others.
