Some available locally, and going for a listen later this week, but since it's hard to really hear so much in a short 10-15 minute listening session, would welcome some thoughts.

Sound, of course. Anything special about these? Among the best, or just one of the herd in their price/class range.
Repair-ability. Any unobtanium parts?
Any known weaknesses, points of failure?
Suggestions for mods, pairing, upgrades?
Any other thoughts/opinions?

It looks like we are both looking at the same stuff. (my post titled help me understand class a is right above yours asking about these too ) I have been reading up on these but there sure isnt much out there on them .

The seller seems like a good guy, good luck with the audition.

I need more audio equipment like a hole in the head, so if you've already got your eyes on it, I'm glad to step back.

Might be forced to back off anyway, as I might have some unexpected costs from a shipper who failed to complete some customs paperwork, for an item shipped to port from overseas. (not audio related)

From what I've been able to gather, these are the export version of the Japan only M7A, for which there is also precious little information.

Be glad to audition it for you, even if I do have to step back, since I'm somewhat local (~1hr 20mins) to the seller.

I’m on the fence too so absolutely don’t step back if you end up going and like them.

No kidding about the lack of information. I looked all over and found very little. My main concern is 30 year old caps and other electronics and how they have fared in a hot cabinet. They are interesting though. This is a fun hobby I just got back into 2 channel recently.
 
They were around $2200.00. They were purchased and sent to the west coast iirc. I had also spoken to the seller.
 
Many thanks, always helpful to get a sense of the pricing for pieces as rare as these....
