Anyone done business with DaCapo Audio?

Got arth-a-ritis
I want to replace my Stanton stylus with something other than JICO such as the one that just fell apart on me. It's a Shibata and I must say it sounded really good for 2 years. Ran across DaCapo which they say are made in Switzerland and I like the prices. Not going to pull the trigger until I learn more. I've never heard of them. How about you?

I've bought several styli off them over the last few years.

A positive experience overall though note depending on where you live they may have a minimum order amount.

Replaced a faulty ortofon stylus without fuss for me, though that may be because I have a history with them.

I've purchased quite a lot from them. Never had a problem. Service is good, prices are good. Shipping charges to civilized countries (I.E.: Europe) are fair.

I have bought several styli from them. Good offer, good prices, fast delivery (ok, Denmark is not that far away from Northern Germany).

I've bought about a half dozen styli from them. Always a positive experience, although when I checked on a stylus several months ago, they weren't shipping to the U.S.
I think the styli you're referring to might be black diamond which are also sold by U.S. dealers.

This is good. Think I'll give them a try. These Stantons are long in the tooth and was thinking it's time to move on from it.

Found the box that my latest one came in and it's marked LP Gear, but did LP Gear really make it?

Well, they had it made for them but they didn't manufacture it. It's probably either a Pfanstiehl from Switzerland or Jico from Japan. Do you have any original Stanton styli? If so, you can get them retipped and that way you'd still be using the original suspension with the tie wire, which most aftermarket styli don't have.

I've bought several styli from them. Completely satisfied.
I've always chosen Jico styli for their superior quality.
I'm from Italy, so the shipping cost from Denmark is very convenient.

Can only echo the positive buying experience other folks from Europe have shared already.

Bought half a dozen JICO SAS styluses from them without any problems whatsoever, but then I'm a close neighbor (in Sweden)

If I decide on a JICO I can order directly from them but DaCapo is a little cheaper. My other choice is Tonar. How about Tonar?

How can they justify a minimum order of 165 EUR to ship to mainland UK?
The only way round that is a grey market purchase via NI.

Time spent filling in customs paperwork I suspect.

My friend in France says it's a pig if you're a company exporting to the uk, private 'gifts' etc are easier now though.

He's British but no longer exports his small value buttons and stickers here, just not worth it.

I don't have an old Stanton and I don't know anything about the tie wire. Anyone want to enlighten me on it?

I've had good luck with them - very wide selection of styli and perfectly straightforward about what they have and shipping time and costs. But this was before tariffs were imposed - it might be more of a hassle now. Which is a bummer.

The tie wire connects to the end of the stylus in the shank and the other end connects to the open end of the shank. It helps to çontrol the movement of the stylus. Both Stanton and Shure, among others, used them. Also, the original Stanton suspension is said to be superior to any aftermarket stylus.
