Anyone have/hear/see the new Dual CS 618Q turntable?

Now this is interesting. This explains why Fehrenbacher in St. Georgen, who made the Dual CS - tables until recently may not use the name "Dual" anymore. They have - as I just wrote in another thread - just launched the brand "Rekkord", which has a lot of typical Dual features. Fehrenbacher has joined the group which own "Pro-Ject" and is named Audio Tuning Vertriebs GmbH.

Now we have here in Germany two makers of turntables that are rooted deeply in Dual´s tradition: Dual itself with a new production: DUAL and Fehrenbacher with its new line Rekkord: Rekkord (rekkord-audio.com) with the old production line. It reminds me of the story with Dual and Perpetuum Ebner (PE).

Thanks for the Rekkord link. Another I had no idea existed.

At least they didn't put the Red on that Dual. For that price though I think I’ll stick with old school Duel. Say those last three words fast three times… ;)

They look a bit like some of the offerings from Audio Technica and Fluance these days. That plus the 'Made in China' on the back makes me suspect they are Hanpin, though obviously some stuff like the arm gimbal design is drawing on old-school Dual aesthetics.

This isn't a German turntable. It's Chinese. At least Fehrenbacher made turntables at the old facility in Lahr (maybe St. Georgen). I guess those days are over, at least with the Dual line.

Not sure, whether this actually is true. I read about a joint venture instead, which would seem more plausible, as Fehrenbacher also still has that "Blackwald" thing going (see there: https://www.blackwald.net/) - and they also produce the "Dreher" turntable model for Analogis (the house brand of the Phono Zubehör Vertrieb). Hence I'd asumme Fehrenbacher to still be an indepentent company rather than merely a daughter of Audio Tuning.

Manfred, when you take a closer look at e.g. the Schwarzwald 3 ( Schwarzwald 3 - Shop | BlackWald ) and the Rekkord F110 ( F110 – Rekkord (rekkord-audio.com) ) you can clearly see that the -3 is a customised version of the F110. And the Dreher also looks identical.

Perhaps Fehrenbacher is associated with Audio Tuning Vertriebs GmbH to get the opportunity to bring a range of different tables into the market after they lost the rights to use the "Dual" - naming. Bringing a new brand like "Rekkord" into the market is easier when an experienced partner is there. Analogis is mostly a reseller of different goods from different sources. And a turntable fits into their portfolio. So they buy one.
