I posted here yesterday about bringing home a near-pristine, fully-working JVC TD-V1010 cassette deck. Tonight when I went around my wholesale "hunting grounds" I noticed another one, but this one was so abused the on/off switch literally made a creaking noise like the door of a haunted house! Uh, no thanks...I don't even want donor parts in that condition! LOL
Then at another place I happened to notice another unit, this time an amplifier, obviously from the same series, with a similar model number of RX-1010V. Fairly nice looking, I think, An ideal match for the cassette deck. I wonder if I should get the amp, just to start building a complete "matched set"? Do I really want yet another set? If I do, I'll probably eventually want to sell these, anyway, so maybe I should; a set would fetch more than a singleton... I ask the price. They'll let me have it for US$25. The lady even guesses I'm building a set - maybe she saw the deck on my trolley when I went around yesterday? Either way, the price seems about right, so I might go back and get it. Still deliberating.
I come home to research the series a bit more, especially this amplifier, and I find one with a very similar number, an RX-1010VTN, listed in an "ePay Store", with a price tag of...

Are these people totally out of their %&()&#*(&-ing minds? I found from a post on another board that this is a seldom-seen variation, a "statement piece" with a titanium finish that was only sold in limited numbers outside of Japan, but are any of these late 80s/early 90s JVC units really good enough to justify that kind of price? If that is what the TNS variant is worth, how much is the plain RX-1010V worth?
I'm not finding very much useful info on these "SuperDigifine" JVC's. Not many on the auction site to indicate values, and what little I find online seems conflicting/contradictory. Does anyone know anything about this amp and this series? Any JVC experts here with factual info? Info is welcomed.
