it sure is a good looking amp. does it sound as good as it looks? Anything that needs special attention besides usual recap ?
I am just curious if it something I should pursue and isn't something I can hear to see just how good they are sonically.
Any experience with one of these appreciated.

From the things I've read, and having read most of the service manual, I can say this is not an amp for a beginner or weak of heart. Adjustments are complicated and numerous. If I had one it would be going out for simple servicing. It is however reported to be a very good performing amp. You should enjoy. I have the AU-D9 and am very happy with it.

I built my Sansui system around the AU-D11 and I'm pretty happy with the results. It doesn't let you plug in a pre-amp which is a bummer, since I really like my tube pre.

Like Bubba said... you'd better know what you're doing before you go poking around inside.
