Audio Analyzers - HP 8903B vs. QuantAsylum QA403

Harmonics visualizer on the QA-403. (1 watt 4R output on a little Rotel integrated)

It is live when acquiring, so you can adjust bias/zero cross distortion and even trim MSBs on older multibit CD players for the absolute lowest THD.

Edited your title.

I have a 8903A that I use with the Pete Millet software, with a National Instruments USB<->HPIB adapter. I like it a lot. After seeing another member's travails with the QA403 and looking at the manual, I wasn't all that impressed - although the QA403 has quite a bit better source, with an order of magnitude or so lower distortion as I recall. The user interface and manual on the QA403 need a bit of work, and I like the fact I can use he 8903A without having to connect the computer to measure stuff.
The QA403 manual is indeed lacking. In technical writing, as in other areas of life, you get what you pay for.

But wait. There's more. I've sent two different emails over the past three days to QuantAsylum, one to "Support," the other to Sales, asking a few brief product-related questions. Have I gotten a response? No. This appears to be another company that prefers to hide from their customers. I get it that you want to keep your CSR staff lean, and that some of these products could provoke a lot of calls, etc. But to turn all that over to "Blogs" and "Helpful User Groups" shows a disregard for customers. Will I buy one of their products? No. Plus, their manuals are next to useless. (Yes, I studied techical writing.)

The company lacks good customer support as many do.

Well, in all fairness I must report that their technical team got back to me today with fairly good information. I'm still going to try to find an HP8903B that's not trashed.
