Aztec Gauguin Question

New poster. I was wondering if these Aztec Gauguin speakers might be worth the $100 that the seller is asking. I can't tell what generation they are. They are located 40 miles from me so it's a little bit of a haul to check them out. Thanks. Here are the pictures that the seller provided.

Value is a hard thing to nail down. All I can say is I would not spend a $100 on them, as I suspect you can get a higher level of performance in the mids and top end from a modern speaker versus those horns. Some might not agree with my, it is just my opinion.

My understanding is that they improved with subsequent generations.

Given the shrinking value of the dollar, later versions like the OP's might be a pretty fair deal for a C note if the sound is really that much improved from the early versions.

I largely agree with the pig where early, triangular port examples are concerned. They were not good.

My early pair of Gauguin III which were utter crap sonically, had very nice cabinets. Not top level cabinet work, but certainly a decent platform on which to build a decent speaker, which is what i did with them.

My concern is that these are Gauguin I or II. The Gauguin III that I've seen posted online have "Gauguin III" on the back. The serial number is greater than any of the Gauguin III that I've seen online though.
