B&W 685 speakers ?

hi there im a newbe to here i just need some advice i recently purchased a nad c370 amp which had a weak left channel and a nad 521 cd player with no display light working for £50 anyway i got them both repaired for £45 and they both sound superb and im running them with a pair of mission 780s speakers anyway the person who sold them to me had some speakers in mint condition these are B&W 685 and has offered me these for £60 and has given me a week to buy them are they any good ? your input will be much appreciated thanks

I would consider that quite a bargain, if you do the conversion from what they sell for used in Canada they'll run over £200. They seem to be highly regarded standmounts
 
thanks mike i looked at the reviews but its great to get an honest view like yours i think you have made my mind up for me regards patrick i will still keep the mission 780s just for sentimental reasons
 
Have you heard them, demo with music you might listen to? Your own ears should be the final decider, IMHO. That seems like a good price for you.

I'd buy them for that price without much thought. If you like them then you bought a nice pair of speakers at a great price. If you cant stand them someone will probably take them off your hands for double the money you spent,
 
i heard them when i picked up amp and cd player as he had them on and they sounded really great he is selling cheap as he is going back to the usa thanks for your post much appreciated regards patrick
 
just an update got the b&w 685 speakers and wow do they sound good with nad amp and nad cd player mind you that is a powerful amp and all it cost for the whole system £155 thanks for all of your input top guys
 
Congrats. If you have time and inclination,would like to see pic of your setup.
I've never heard those speakers, but they have good reviews.
