Hey everyone,
I recently bought a Beogram 1800 that I'm fixing up for a family member. It was in pretty crusty shape, so I completely stripped it, cleaned each part, then reassembled and lubed everything. Unfortunately, once I got it back together and went through the set up procedures in the manual, I've been having odd antiskating problems.
The antiskate on this turntable is set with a spring attached to the tonearm on one end, and do a moveable pivot on the other. With it set at for the cartridge I am using, if I cue the tonearm to say, the center of a record, it yanks the arm back to the beginning pretty viollently. I've put a video link below to show what I mean, in it you'll see me verify the tonearm is balanced, set the tracking force, then manually set the turntable into play mode and then demonstrate the issue. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I'm missing? Thanks,
