Best hit song of the 1980's?

A second vote for "Tainted Love" but some great one's have been mentioned - all of the ones so far really!

Oh wow.. and speaking of Paranoimia.. same week, another band I mentioned just this week... Bananarama with Venus... They were #7... Max was 40.. UGH...

At least Sara and Karen are looking a lot better than Max.. LOL...

Relax Frankie Goes to Hollywood

Reached #1 in the UK in January 1984. It fell out of favor and then in June of 1984 it rebounded back to the #2 spot, behind Frankie's Two Tribes.
Reached #10 in the U.S. in March 1985

Welcome To the Pleasuredome is the quintessential "pop record".

Gary Numan.. Cars... Made the top 100, made top 40, and all kinds of other charts.. And I'm going to elect Are Friends Electric, because that was top of the charts in the UK...

We never said this was the US charts :p:

I just saw How Soon Is Now.. GREAT song.. but I don't think it made top 40

However, Safety Dance made it.. .But then again.. which charts are we talking about? US, UK? Canada?
