Best New McIntosh Amp for My System

I have pushed my Mc452 into 900 watt peaks, with the power guard lights blinking.
My 'mutt pedigree' CV-XLS-215 speakers didn't even blink.

I would definitely be buying from Audio Classics. That was sort of my thought process on the MC462 - it’s basically future proof. No matter where I end up on the speaker side of things, it’s an amp that can power just about anything. . .

Those two sentences are what I did and was thinking with the MC452.

. . .I guess there’s always some risk in pairing such a powerful amp with speakers like mine - that aren’t able to handle that much power. But, I can’t envision a scenario where it would even be turned up to a level where it would cause any damage. Short of a cat sitting on the volume control on the remote, or something like that...

"Adult beverages." Just saying.

Thanks for this thread, came to ask the same thing.

Honestly, the weight is the worst part of these. I was able to bring home my MA7900 and unpack, set it up, but certainly would not want to try that alone with one of these (75 vs. 115 lbs).

It is too bad the MC830 is not a MC462 that is chopped in half, would make it easier to place on the floor next to the speakers, and move by yourself.
