Best pressing of the Beatles' white album?

Now that I've added a purple Capitol label white album to my collection, I'm interested in doing a comparison. But I'm wondering if any of you have any insight?

I have a couple of original stamped cover Apple versions, the early 80s German DMM white vinyl copy, the copy that comes in the blue box set, and now this copy.

Honestly, I'm not sure this copy is any worse or better than the original Apple prints, but I think those copies might have a little less compression. At the same time, I think the German DMM blows everything else out of the water--great highs, great bass, lots of "presence."

Honestly, since the 2009 remasters I have a hard time being interested in any Beatles vinyl, and I'm not the kind of guy that usually says things like that. I would try to add something more helpful, but I've never really had a clean copy of any white album pressing.

That's unfortunate. Or maybe I've just been lucky. All my copies are very clean. Well, the German DMM I received new and sealed in 85 (birthday gift), and one of the originals I've had since the day I bought it in 1968.

I really liked the German DMM - great sonics! Even though I never had the actual album, only needle drop downloaded from the net.
From what I have - I really enjoy mid 70s British press (-1/-3/-1/-1 matrix numbers)
By the way mid 80s German DMM Blue and Red albums on colored vinyl sound great too. Some may say that bass is overblown on them, but as for me, I really like this kind of sound.

Since my original Apple was ripped off years ago...I have nothing to compare my purple Capitol to. That being said...I think it sounds damn good.

I have the White Album on vinyl with the purple label. It has always sounded pretty good to me, but I have not compared it to other vinyl versions. The only other version I have is the mono remaster on CD and that would be apples to oranges comparison.

I would not doubt your German version is exceptional.
