Hello,
It's been a while since i posted anything here. I have been unemployed and had to rely on ebay to make some money. I didnt want to abuse the forum by using the members knowledge to make money for myself so i stayed away.
Well, now i am gainfully employed again and am able to buy toys for myself now. My question is: Has anyone here had any experience with BOGEN receivers? I found a Bogen rt-8000 on craigs list and cant find anything out about it. The guy said to make an offer but i dont know anything about it. Is it worth even looking at? I am interested for no other reason than i have never owned a Bogen product before. I see that there is some interest in Bogen amplifiers so i am hoping that their receivers are decent too. Thanks for any help.

It's listed in the Sams Photofact index - # 1045-SED from 1969. I don't have any past '62 or so. The -SED folders are schematic only, and sometimes appeared much later than the product. The regular folders usually appeared when a product was new.
 
Thanks! This place is just fantastic and i dont want to see it muddied up. It is hard to find a place like this (and even harder to leave it).
 
I can check the sams and see what it is like, the next time I am at the shop. The "SED" folders mean "special equipment data" and it is a reprint of the manufacturer's schematic as a bonus feature, it is not a Photofacts schematic. My experience with Bogen products has always been good, are using several tube type and solid state Bogen PA amps and they have good sound quality.
 
I think that i am going to persue increasing my pioneer collection. But if anyone would like i could pass on the email from this guy.
 
I know this is an extremely old post, but here goes anyway.

The Bogen RT 8000 is an extremely rare animal. I can find very little information available. And, I just bought one. So far it sounds great! Would love to hear from anyone who has one, has seen one, or knows anything about it!
