Boston Acoustics T1000

I've read good things about Boston Acousitcs speakers, but I've never owned a pair, or even listened to a set. But i came across a pair of Oak T1000s and the price was too good to pass up. Speakers are in great shape aside from 1 mid range dome pushed in and a couple sticker residues.

Think they would be good hooked up to my Sony STR 6800SD?

I've got a set that I bought new, the light oak like yours. They currently need some foam and caps. They are great speakers, and I really need to fix them up.

Yes, HAD them and I wish still. IMHO, the best series BA made. The HD series are also very good. These little buggers have some nice clarity and slam for such a small box. I still have the HD5 and they're staying.

Here are a couple pictures of the STR 6800 SD and the BA T1000s. I hooked them up and to my surprise they sounded pretty good. The highs and mids were clear and there was a good amount of bass. Very happy with them. (i also tried my best to fix the pushed in cone with a vacuum)

Now time to clean them up a bit and find a place to put them.

very nice. could these be some of the best BA ever made aside from the original A series?

Geez, now that I've seen a pic of the T1000....what I had were T1030. Considered better than the 1000. The tweeter was below the mid range whereas the T1000 has the tweeter on top.

That was a damn fine sounding speaker. But I'm done with big heavy speakers. Prefer smaller high performance.

I think you will enjoy those. I listen to a pair of T1030 that replaced A150s. I would imagine the T1000 compare well to those two speakers. Having never heard the A200/A400, I can't make that comparison

I had a pair of T830 at one time but those went to my brother. They sounded close but not quite there in comparison with the A150 - mainly on the low end. A couple of steps up the food chain from the T830 should sound very good.

Something might beat the T1030 but right now I am very content with them. Probably will do some other upgrades before thinking of replacing these.

I'm gonna necro this thread ;) I just got a pair of the T-1000's in fantastic shape and I must say
they sound excellent with my Poineer 1010 and a TEAC 3300SX Reel to Reel! I can't find any reason to niggle on anything and I'd
certainly not say these don't have deep and thumping bass. Very nice speakers and attractive too.
I have a pair of Polk SDA-2's and they are butt ugly compared to these BA'S
