Braun RC61D Receiver/Console

Hi All...
I acquired a beautiful mid-century console with a RC61D receiver and a Telefunken turntable. I know nothing about these receivers and was wondering if they are worth restoring. It is in great-looking shape but I have not powered it up yet. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance. And please let me know if there is another discussion on the Brauns elsewhere on AK that I missed.

I see FM goes up to 108, so it's an export model for the US. This table radio has the same chassis: https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/braun_super_99.html

German radios are different, the push-buttons and dial drives can be tricky, mechanical parts are made of unobtanium. Never seen one like this myself - their later portables were great, though. Would absolutely be worth restoring to me!

I'm not a fan of consoles, simply because they take up so much space. Still, this is a really beautiful piece of equipment, and I agree it's worth restoring. I'd find a place for it somehow!

Thanks. The back panel does say "Made in West Germany" and is labeled M33. I love the look of the console but do agree that it takes up a bit too much space. Now... to find someone who wants to work on it.

I love how German radios look and perform, but they kind of suck to rebuild. The way the chassis are designed the parts tend to be pretty densely packed. The whole middle is occupied by the piano key band switch mechanism so everything gets shoved into the space around it. This one doens't appear to be too deep though, so maybe there aren't multiple layers to dig through in order to access the caps that need to be replaced.

Once done they're nice though.
