Broke a headshell wire on a Dual

Currently fixing up a friend’s Dual 1214 that had squeaky bearings and a dead channel. Got the squeaky bearings sorted out easily enough, but in investigating the dead channel, I broke off a cable on the headshell/sled. Thinking I could crimp a spare wire onto it, I took off the tiny spring-loaded metal rod that makes contact with the arm. Naturally, it took flight and made it’s home on my very grayish carpet, never to be seen again (trust me, I’ve looked). I can get a TK24 sled for $30, which is a bit more than I’m willing to shell out for given that I’ve already purchased a new idler, stylus, and extra lubricants. Anyone know if I can get a spare spring-loaded rod anywhere, or is it absolutely imperative that I get a new sled?

You can use the TK14, TK15, TK24, and any number of other sleds, like the TK120. I've used all three in my 1219. If you look carefully, you should be able to get one for $20, which isn't bad. The TK12 sleds for the 1019 are usually around $50.
In order for somebody to send you the spring loaded rod, they'd have to destroy an existing sled, and I don't think that's going to happen.

Not unless some other bumbling fool accidentally a sled as well hahaha.

But just to clarify, these sleds are (mostly) universal? Or are there exceptions?
