Hi all-
I just wanted to drop a line saying I'm sitting here being blown away by an album I've owned for 20+ years-"Blood, Sweat & Tears". I had Dad's beat-up copy and a bad Penney's TT as a kid, and have had a cassette of it since the early 90's. Car trip music-in some of the not-so-best car cassette players around.
Tonight I found a 7.5 ips reel tape of the album at the S. Army for a buck.
I am blown away by the sound. Through an old Sony TC-645, this thing had me forced to sit down and listen instead of being background music for the evening. I'd always heard this about rtr's but never had tapes I was already familiar with to compare. The bass-I never heard half the bass notes on "So Very Happy" before!! And the drum solo on "Blues pt. II"! My God! The CD CAN'T sound this good-I'm sorry...
Anyway, I rediscovered an old friend, and saw through clearer lenses this time, and am discovering aspects of this recording that I didn't know were even there.
