Cables, line conditioning, science? myths?

Yesterday I had the opportunity to read one one of the most interesting threads I've ever seen : speaker cables. All of you have already discussed about speaker cables , and what about Other cables : power cables, interconnection cables , line conditioning ???. There are several topics around
getting a fine sound that involve sometimes more or less expensive items as line conditioners, powercables , interconection cables, tube buffers . Whats true , whats myth? http://audiokarma.org/forums/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=54#

cir-- you hover on the brink of rousing the sleeping dragon known as the cable thread. there is nothing to learn and everything to learn; you must go forth, secure your cables and listen and test until satisfied that you have arrived at the end of your quest. there is no one here who can help you.
 
Shrinkboy is right - in my world, cables and line conditioning make a significant difference. In someone else's world - who knows?
 
Cir, here you have the best oppurtunity of all. Instead of just relying on what other people think, sign yourself up for the test program and you can decide for yourself what works and what doesn't. In your own home. All it costs you is the price of shipping them to the next guy, oh and some hours listening to music!

Bigerik,GaryP,Shrinkboy, thank you all for your comments , unfortunately here in South America you cannot try stuf and send it back. So you have to rely on the experience of others. And after hearing a lot of comments of the people who are really" on the move" I take my decision. As everything in the Hifi world , you find huge differences in regards to price and maybe then quality and sometimes you hit a bargain buying the same quality but at a very diferent price. So its always wise to shearch for generous advice . Example: You can find here a Shunyata or PS audio power conditioning device or a Monster one , a lot of difference in price , but are they not designed to do the same thing, should the physics of a power conditioning device not be trhe same?

And that's the good news - since you're here in AK land, you can! there's a cable swap program - just find the thread, sign up, and you'll get some cables to try. Only costs (as Bigerik said) the cost of shipping them on to the next member on the list!

The cost to join is shipping to the next person on the list, AND posting a review of your findings, whatever they may be. Put your name on the lists of all the items that interest you.

Edit: I am not speaking hypothetically. That program includes you, for the cost of shipping, one-way, to the next person in line.

You aren't alone! One of our super-mods, ckelly, is also in South America. It's a big continent, but my point is that you can participate fully in the AK community from just about anywhere.
