I have a cheap monster cable mini to rca cable plugged into a Sansui R-50 driving a set of Martin USA Gamma 310's and it sounds too good to be true.
I'm interested to know if anyone knows the specifics of the dac inside this computer.
From what I have found, the '06 iMac uses a reference design Intel HD audio chipset and audio circuit. Nothing really out of the ordinary. The same stuff is found in PCs from many vendors.
