Capacitor replacements

Need help replacing a capacitor with three prongs on my Akai X-1800 SD. The markings on this MP Capacitor are A-2.0 uf and B-0.5 uf, 300 WV.AC. For replacements I have 2 capacitors. 2.0 uf 370 VAC and 0.5 uf 500 VAC. I have very little electronics experience. I believe the two capacitors I have for replacements need to be put in series. How do you do this? Detailed answers would be appreciated.
