Captain & Tennille -- Is Nothing Sacred?

Hard to believe the Captain and Tennille are getting divorced... Oh, the litany of jokes: Love Will Not Keep Them Together. No more Muskrat Love. Guess Toni was Shopping Around because her hubby Never Done It Like That. Think of all the Lonely Nights ahead for Daryl. Maybe, for old time's sake, Toni will ask Daryl to Do That To Me One More Time?

He's 71 and she's 73. Why bother indeed.

Have to wonder if it's for a legal reason, as in medical coverage, tax purposes, etc. Sometimes the system does not encourage marriage.

Judge: "So, Ms. Tennille, what is the main reason you want a divorce from Daryl?"

Ms. Tennille: "It's that #$*^#+ captain's hat. He never takes it off for anything!"

Someone's finally running off with the Muskrat.

Naw, I'll reckon he's like the Burt Reynolds character in Smokey and the Bandit; he probably takes it off for one thing...

By the way, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if a muskrat was named as a co-respondent when Ms. Tennille filed for divorce. Just sayin'.

I must admit, I actually DO have a C&T album. I am not sure if I actually bought it or if it was one of those Columbia Record Club Monthly Selections where I forgot to send in the "I Don't Want It" post card.

I can't imagine actually buying it, but maybe under the influence.

I think we do to... but I am pretty sure that it was Mrs H's, before we got married. Pretty sure... it was the '70s, though...

That is precisely the reason I had heard mentioned. The Captain has something akin to Parkinsons....

People fall out of love. Fact. Maybe not everybody of course but a lot of folks.

Exactly. It's why dogs have it mastered. Only 14 years. You gotta' pack a lot of playing, eating, and loving into that limited lifespan.

Humans? We tend to stick around too long, and fall out of love once in a while.

The reason for the Cap'n's hat, I vaguely remember, was to cover up a shiny bald pate..He is Darryl Dragon, son of big-band leader from the Thirties & Forties, Carmen Dragon.

Well, it's over. For Darryl anyway. He died today. Of renal failure.
Reading up, it was a loveless marriage. He had a lot of mental issues. I always suspected something missing there, since he never smiled and wasn't crazy about her either. A shame, she deserved better.
And was there when he died. She is a saint.

We'll okay then .. I have the inexplicable urge to stream Don Henley's Dirty Laundry on Tidal.

RIP Daryl Dragon
