Cassette player needs new belt.

I have a Fisher model CR-W50. I picked this up at Goodwill for 5 bucks, and this is my first vintage-ish cassette player. I didn't know they even used belts until now, and the belt that I assume turns the spindles is missing. What size do I need?

Unless you can search the web for a belt precisely for your particular drive you'll probably have to get one of those multi belt packages from somewhere like ebay - maybe contact the seller and ask what make/model tape decks the belts will work on.

Are you sure it's just not under or hiding in the transport. And is this the deck with the blue and orange back lit vu meters, if so it is not a bad sounding deck and is worth a little effort to get going.

Short of taking it apart and doing the measuring yourself, no other way for anybody else to know, especially on a lower end deck where replacing the deck outweighs fixing it. But getting into taking it apart, playing and learning, I'd say this would be the unit to do it with. I did find a site where there is 2 belts (Flat to drive flywheel and/or reels, other is the square belt to probably drive counter) lots of different configurations with manufacturers and models. Says one of the 2 belts are discontinued, but I would e-mail orders@pacparts to see what he's currently got. Here's the link to the page: http://www.pacparts.com/model.cfm?mfg=FISHER&model_id=CRW50&action=list_part&back=0&mode=auto
