Celestion 66 Speakers

I have a chance to P/U a pair of Celestion 66 (Ditton??) speakers. They look to be in very good condition..8.5 or 9. Nice wood veneer.

Haven't found any solid info on them, whether they're version 1 or 2. No serial number. 1 post that I've read says that V1's were black and V2's were Oak, like these.

Any idea of their value??:scratch2:

They also say Studio Monitor. Has a 12" woofer and 12" passive radiator under it.

Had a pair back in the late 70's early 80's mine were in a deep grained teak (I think) finish. Great sounding speakers and were Celestion's pro model. You still see the occasional pair for sale here in the UK and they still make good prices (£300/400).

Thanks for the reply, Fitzy. I now have them next to my Wharfedale W-60E's. Sound is very close until it goes deep into the bass, then the 66's are better.

I opened one up and the crossover caps look good, but so did the one's in my W-60's. Replacing them made a great difference.

I hope to find a schematic of the 66's X-O, and an address fro Celestion. Can you help??

Regards,
