Cellphone photos. Caught anything interesting lately? Post em!

A Cicada with a Cicada Killer Wasp on it's back. I don't know whose side I'm on there, but I read the Cicada Killer Wasps don't usually attack humans unless provoked. Then again, I don't know what Cicadas do.

A beautiful moth (?) on some faded Merkur XR4Ti paintwork.

That’s some Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom action going on right there.
That wasp is a mean looking customer - I would for sure avoid provoking it!

This was the view from the window of a restaurant we went to. This is a place that my wife and I would go to occasionally when we lived closer about 30 years ago. It was on the way home from Rougarou Fest. We decided the food at the fest was not the best so we picked this place. There was a small gator in the water just to the left of this area. The heron was stalking something in the water but I believe it moved on.

It almost looks like the heron is surfing on the Gator

Yeah, that was a log in the water and the heron moved so gracefully it didn’t make a ripple on the water. This restaurant used to have a teenager that would go out with a piece of chicken hanging from a string on a pole. He could get the alligators to jump up out of the water to catch it.

A blue heron hanging out at the “pond’s” edge (actually a detention pond for the parking lot runoff) at the municipal playfields during our dog walk today. Rarely see herons here - pretty slim pickins. Maybe a frog or two.
