Cerwin Vega AT-15

Well now I need to pull them out, I could read the build date of September 2001 on the magnet through the port I could also read 15W4. Were they still making AT-15 in 2001?

Threads like these make me want to kick my own arse for selling my beloved DX9's with selenium tweeters.

They were loud at any volume, and sounded surprisingly good with the selenium tweeter upgrade. Let them go for a song, I did. Dammit.

T'is a great find, sir. Congrats.

Harvestor, I truly admire your enthusiasm...and your room and your speakers! Makes me want to get in on the C-V fun! Klipsch is pricing themselves out of my comfort zone, plus their affordable lines top out with dual 8" woofers. One of these days, I may part with my RF-82's and buy a pair of SL-15's! Just for the pure fun of it!

15w4 is said to have the coil wrapped 4 times oppose to 2 wraps (152w)

What is the difference between 2 wraps and 4 wraps? Should the At-15 have the 15w4 or the 152w? I have been looking for a spec sheet, but I keep seeing cast frame not the driver number. The frame of the speaker and magnet on my woofer looks correct, but the date code looks wrong to me. I am wondering if they are later replacement woofers. If they are later replacements I would like to know if these would sound the same as the originals?

I am wondering if someone changed the woofers rather than refoaming in 2001.

It truly is great Fun with Movie's and music..I really do love big sound from big SPEAKERS..
Everyone that comes over and ever watched a movie with me is Amazed and can't believe how much better than the theater the sound system is. ..
I used to have bookshelf size Athena system and while Nice and good..... That setup of small Speakers even with the same Surround Receiver was a JOKE in comparison to the big Cerwin Vega's . .. Movies are fun at home...
And so is the music ...

20180807_105623.jpg 20180806_212700.jpg 20180806_212710.jpg I looked for a date stamp last night, the insulation is glued down really well so there was not much bare wood to look at and I didn't see any dates. I did notice that both woofers have the same September 20, 2001 manufacture date. I tried looking at tweeters and mids but didn't see any dates. Is there a serial number index or list that might shed light on year of manufacture, both my cabinets still have serial numbers.
Thanks

The four windings roll off the frequencies sent to the woofers, I don't remember where it is, maybe 400 Hz. The two winding woofers do it with the crossover, around 4000 Hz.
