Changing Cable Terminals on Old Speakers

I have a couple of older sets of speakers that have terminals similar to these (two screws, not like the three screws shown):

I would like to change them out for something a bit larger, that can handle some sizable wire; something like these - or, ones that can handle multiple different connector types, bare wire, spades, lugs, banana, etc.:

Is this something that can be done without ruining the value of the speakers in a collectors sense?
I'd like to use the new connectors on the backs of the speakers cabinets, in place of the old style screwdriver driven terminals. I really don't care for them.

if the new ones fit the same hole go for it . if not and you don't want to alter the cabs .you could mount the terminals in a box and wire the box to the original terminals .or you could be really clever and mount directly over the top of the originals using the screws as mounts as well as connections . i don't think they would hold the weight though .
another way is make a fish plate . that's maybe the best way without altering things .

If you are going to be swapping speakers in and out of your system, go for the 5 way binding posts - lots of different installation options. If you are not swapping or only swapping speakers with screw terminals, go simple and use insulated crimp-on ring terminals. They're cheaper, faster to install, you can now use large wire, haven't altered the original speaker and have solved the fraying strands shorting out the amp's or receiver's output problem.
