cheap USB player

I am looking for a cheap but not crap DAP with a USB A port to insert a USB flash drive and has line out
and a remote control... know of any?? under 50$

This pops up on Amazon...never tried it myself since I plug my thumb drive directly into my receiver.

Lots of DVD/blue ray players and TVs have this function built in. You may have forgotten about it...

An obsolete laptop is perfect...almost unlimited storage capacity and multiple user interfaces (programs) to choose from.

LG DP132 DVD player. I got a couple I believe in Amazon for $27.99 each, free shipping. It will play your MP3 files plus JPEG images and I believe Windows media from a USB flash drive, plus DVDs and CDs (including MP3 files) from the tray. No display whatsoever so if you have different folders you are "blind' and can't see what you are playing or how to choose which folder or file to play, but since it is a DVD player it has a video out and if you plug your TV to it you see a full display of folders and files and choose what to play or make a program. I have an old portable 5 inch B&W TV and I plugged the video out to the tv and I have full display of all folders and files and can choose what to play. I think you can have up to 600 folders in your flash drive which should be enough since you can have many files (songs) in each folder (I don't know if there is a maximum number of files in each folder). There is a new version, the DP132H which has an HDMI out, but if you just want it for music it is not worth the extra $$$.
