I have owned two pairs of Crysler speakers, and were impressed with both. I've heard two hi fi dealers here say these are THE BEST vintage speakers ever made in Japan. I disagree; I think my NS-1000Ms are better, and some of the rare, high-end/TOTL models from Diatone, Sony, and others were better, too. But of the more mid-fi stuff that you more realistically may find, these are about as good as it gets. I'd put them in the class of HECO or average CANTON speakers, if that helps. Of course, I'm talking about similar-size speaker comparisons here. A Crysler bookshelf won't match a good big floorstander, except maybe on the top end.
If they are reasonably cheap and close, GET 'EM.
EDIT (READ THIS): The ones I had were NOT like the ones in the pics; one pair of mine were more like conventional bookshelf speakers, except the entire front baffles were made from slabs of aluminum(!), damped behind. The other pair were even bigger bookshelf style ones, built into antique-style furniture cabinets. I LOVED those, but they were too big to keep in our apartment. I've seen a pair of those skinny types with the handles before, but never heard them. Not sure if they are of the same quality, or not. Maybe not; they didn't quite look it to me.
